404 Cube

“404 Cube” is my installation consisting of two cubical boxes constructed with 12 acrylic paintings on wood panels that can be displayed separately or together. Inspired by my own digital illustrations and anime/games, I aim to capture the digital aesthetic through hand painting and create a dynamic clash between the virtual world and reality.

I applied a dotting technique manually to mimic the halftone textures commonly used in digital arts, evoking the tactile nature of pixels. The choice of the cube and square format also plays on the concept of pixels which reinforces the connection between digital and physical realms.
